Corporate and Professional Ethics and Practices:

A proper foundation of ethics requires a standard of value to which all goals and actions can be compared.

-          It Encompass the personal and corporate standards of behavior expected of professionals.

-          Is a set of standards and rules adopted by a professional community or an organization of which members are bound to follow and obey.

-          Comprised of what a professional should or should not do in the work place.

Moral values and ethics

Distinctions between values, morals and ethics:

VALUES

- are the rules by which we make decisions about right and wrong, should and should not, good and bad.

-are traits of which an individual is committed to live by

-are manners and behaviors within the norms of the community as well as the society as a whole

MORALS

- motivation based on ideas of right and wrong.

-subject to one’s belief, customs and religion

ETHICS

- dealing with values relating to human conduct, with respect to the rightness and wrongness of certain actions and to the goodness and badness of the motives and ends of such actions. 

Ethics and its importance...

 What is ETHICS?

-Deals with what is the proper course of action for a man. It deals with the right and wrong in human endeavors.

-It is the method by which we categorize our values and pursue them.

                ( do we pursue our own happiness, or do we sacrifice ourselves for a greater cause)

 Why is Ethics Important?

-It is our means of deciding a course of action, without it,  our actions would be random and aimless.

            -To the degree of ethical standard, we are able to correctly organize our goals and actions to accomplish our most important values. Values of which we are committed to live by.
