Moral values and ethics


Distinctions between values, morals and ethics:

VALUES
- are the rules by which we make decisions about right and wrong, should and should not, good and bad.
-are traits of which an individual is committed to live by
-are manners and behaviors within the norms of the community as well as the society as a whole
MORALS
- motivation based on ideas of right and wrong.
-subject to one’s belief, customs and religion
ETHICS
- dealing with values relating to human conduct, with respect to the rightness and wrongness of certain actions and to the goodness and badness of the motives and ends of such actions.
